What is a
Japanese dry head spa?

A Japanese dry head spa is a head massage and scalp massage done with the hands only. We use no water and no shampoo.

Our manager works slowly through your scalp, the sides and back of your head, the area around your eyes, your neck and shoulders. Your hair stays dry from start to finish, so there is nothing to wash off and nothing to dry.

Rest your head.
Walk out ready.

A traveler resting by a hotel window in Tokyo after a long flight

01

A long flight and a packed schedule.

A new time zone, early starts, late dinners. Your body is in Tokyo, but your head still feels miles behind.

A traveler pausing on a Tokyo street at dusk, eyes closed

02

Tired eyes and a tight, heavy head.

Hours on screens, maps and messages. The strain sits behind your eyes and creeps into the temples and the back of your head.

A man checking his watch in a hotel corridor before dinner

03

No time to wash and dry your hair.

You would love to unwind, but dinner is at seven and you don’t want to arrive with wet hair or start again with a hair dryer.

Walk out ready.
No wet hair, no blow-dry.

We never use water, shampoo or oil on your hair. So there is no shower, no hair dryer and no need to change – the head spa is done in your own clothes.

You walk out exactly as you came in and go straight on to dinner, shopping, your next sight or the airport.

Inside, the noise of Tokyo stays outside. One guest at a time, a private floor of a quiet house, soft light and slow hands. Many guests simply fall asleep.

Give your head the rest it has been asking for.

Many guests tell us the first thing they notice is how much lighter their head feels, and that their expression looks more relaxed in the mirror.

What our guests say

Many of our reviews come from guests who had a facial, so we quote the parts about the room and the care.

Read all reviews: Roppongi · Daikanyama

“I had a head spa and a facial in a calm, relaxing space. From our conversation, the staff chose an aroma that suited me, and its fresh scent was very soothing.”

Y.I. · July 2025 · Roppongi · Google review, translated from Japanese (excerpt)

“Besides the careful treatment, the calm space – like a quiet house – lets me take care of myself without worrying about other people.”

M.S. · July 2025 · Roppongi · Google review, translated from Japanese (excerpt)

“The room was calm and beautiful, so I could relax body and mind. … The staff listened carefully, from my concerns to the treatment itself.”

“… It was very relaxing. I’d like to come regularly.”

What guests tell us
after a head spa

01. Deep rest

Slow, steady pressure. Many guests drift into a deep, unplanned nap on the bed.

02. A lighter head

Many guests say the scalp, temples and the back of the head feel looser afterwards.

03. Rested eyes

We work carefully around the eyes. Guests who spend long hours on screens often say their eyes feel more rested.

04. Neck & shoulders

The neck and shoulders are part of the 60 minutes, because that is where much of the tension starts.

05. Straight back to your day

No water, no oil in your hair, no blow-dry. Head straight to dinner, shopping or your next sight.

Individual results vary.

Rest

In a city that never slows down,
real rest is the true luxury.

You wake up on the bed, a little surprised that you fell asleep, and the noise of the day is somewhere far away. That is the time we want to give you in Tokyo.

Rei Watanabe

I will attend to all of our international guests. From making your appointment to leaving the salon, everything will be taken care of. Please don’t worry about the language barrier and make yourself at home.

Our salon’s name, “TransATT”, is a blend of the words “Transform” and “Attractive.” The attractive change our guests in Tokyo appreciate most? “They arrive tired and leave fully refreshed.”

Upon arrival, I’ll begin with a short consultation in English about how you feel and where the tension sits, and adjust the head spa to you. Please feel free to sleep and rest comfortably during the treatment.

We are looking forward to meeting you at our cozy, quiet salons in Roppongi and Daikanyama.

A word from the owner

I first came to TransATT as a guest. Shortly before my wedding, I decided to take better care of myself and became a member of this salon.

Over the years I came to believe that many men quietly want the same thing, and I asked the previous owner to let me take over the business. Later, to solve my own eyebrow worries, I also opened a men's eyebrow salon.

I also work a full-time job, so honest, careful management matters to me more than anything. Safety, transparency and clear prices come first – please visit with peace of mind.

FAQ

Q. What is a dry head spa? ▼

A Japanese-style treatment that releases the scalp, the muscles around the eyes and the neck with the hands only. We never use water or shampoo, so your hair stays dry and you can go straight on with your day.

Q. Do I need to speak Japanese? ▼

No. Every English-language appointment is treated by our English-speaking manager, Rei Watanabe. Making an appointment, payment and the confirmation email are all in English.

Q. Is it men only? ▼

Yes. TransATT is a men-only salon, and treatments are designed for men. We do not accept female guests.

Q. Will I meet other guests? ▼

No. At both salons we take one guest at a time in a private room.

Q. What should I wear? Do I need to change? ▼

No need to change – come as you are. The treatment is done in your own clothes, and since we never use water or oil on your hair, you can head straight back out afterwards.

Q. Is it painful? ▼

No. We adjust the pressure as we go. If anything feels too strong, just tell us.

Q. How do I pay? ▼

The full price is paid online by credit card when you book. Nothing to pay at the salon, and no tipping.

Q. Can I cancel or change my appointment? ▼

Yes. Cancel up to 24 hours before your appointment time for a full refund, using the link in your confirmation email. To change the time, cancel and book again. Cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment time and no-shows are not refunded.

Q. What should I bring? ▼

Nothing at all. Just come as you are, a few minutes before your appointment time.

Q. Can I bring my luggage? ▼

Yes. A carry-on size suitcase can stay in the room with you. For larger luggage, please use the coin lockers at the station.

Q. What if I am running late? ▼

Please call us. Because the next guest may be waiting, your treatment ends at the original time, and the price stays the same.

Q. Can I come just before heading to the airport? ▼

Yes. Your hair stays dry and you don’t need to change, so you can leave straight after. Please allow about 90 minutes at the salon in total, plus your travel time to the airport.

Q. My scalp is sensitive. Is that OK? ▼

Please tell us in the consultation. We use no water, shampoo or oil on your hair, and we adjust the pressure as we go. If you have a scalp condition, a wound or a recent procedure on your head, please write it in the note field when you book. If you are unsure, please check with your doctor first.

Q. How do I find you? ▼

Roppongi: 4 minutes on foot from Roppongi Station, in The Park Maison Roppongi, Building B. Please ring the intercom when you arrive and we will open the door.
Daikanyama: 3 minutes on foot from Daikanyama Station (Tokyu Toyoko Line) and about 7 minutes from Naka-Meguro and Ebisu, in Grand Maison Daikanyama. Please ring Room 401 on the intercom at the entrance and we will open the door.
